Oh, this is going to be my first ever posted recon! :D Yay!
So, if you are a huge Batman fangirl/boy, like me, you might know about whysoserious.com. It was a cool game going on for the last year to advertise The Dark Knight. Earlier this year, a site came around related to the game: citizensforbatman.org, which I thought was awesomely cheesey. It was then decided that I would not survive without a shirt of my own to support Batman.

Okay so I read the news while at work... Earth Quake in Japan, North East of Tokyo... needless to say I went online and tried to figure out exactly where Rick is in Japan..
So dude you never post, but atleast let me know if your alive? okay? have all your limbs? etc??

man so ive been outta Tokyo for 5 days now. been in this town about 4 hours west called Nagoya. its awesome. its kinda like a "Chicago" of Japan. pretty damn big. but its been a lot of fun getting to see such a different side of japan and meet and hang with kids that i would never EVER be able to hang with if it was not for Aya (my guide and translator). It is very stressful being in a country where you are physically different from everyone. pretty much everywhere i go people stare. if its not because of my striking good look (jk), its because of how tall i am over everyone, or my tattoos. its almost funny how accepted discrimination is here. last night i was refused entry into a bowling alley because of my tattoos and lack of proper identification. (a college ID with photo does not count)
i have been documenting my time here very very well. in fact suprisingly well. there is video footage of me here, which i believe is the first time i have been captured of film in about 4 years. scary.i always think about people who have lived there whole lives without any video footage of themselves. its like when your gone theres not even proof you were ever here. you could have well as been a fictional person that you only knew exsisted because your relatives told you about them. maybe thats why i feel such a disconnect with my grandparents and their parents. i know honestly know barely anything about my grandparents and absolutley nothing about their parents. nothing. bam, its like they never lived.
but putting all that deep material aside, japan is a beautiful place with great culture and the nicest and well mannered people i have ever been a part of. i am excited that i chose Japanese Language as my major and focus of study. my skills decent as of now. i know 40 japanese words by heart and can read about 20% of things i see. just by being hear for this short time i have already greatly improved my language skills and conversation ability. I can not wait to come back here in 1 year after two semesters of language classes and see what i can do.
god im so hungry. i hate to cut off so abruptly but i have gotta find something to eat. today we are going to another baseball game. and then possibly out drinking tonight. its all in the air just how i like it.

I made a dress for my Cousin out of An old Bed Sheet.
I am quite Pleased with How it Came out, and so is she (so she says).
AND i didnt put them all together like i normally do, hope u guys like this way better...

I am in a regional coverband. We have t-shirts we sell at our shows. I love taking our shirts and doing cool stuff with them (even though the guys in the band don't always appreciate my efforts). I had made the original shirt and wore it to a show and one fan liked it so much she asked me to make her one.

The name of my band is Boogie and the Yo Yoz. This particular shirt is designed to look like the guitar hero logo. Fun huh?

I am sure some of you know... I love my camera.. and I love taking photographs. Whether or not you think I am any good, I do not know.
I've been complaining, yes complaining, that I can't find a way to sell my photographs. Kurt finally said to me, "I love tattooing, I wanted it so bad that I did whatever it took to get to where I am." So.. yes I have not been proactive enough. I blame it on being broke and not being able to afford supplies... but some how I have to figure this out.
I don't complain about not having money for going out, for food, for drinks for anything people typically consider "fun". I pay my bills and I'm left with very little.. but I've become used to that... but my passion is beginning to burn at my toes. I need to get my work out there.
I don't care if anyone cares on LJ, myspace, whatever about my photography. I don't care if my friends and my parents don't take me seriously. I take me seriously. Kurt takes me seriously. Someone will...
So today I gathered information on how to sell my prints. I also worked on a list of supplies I'll need eventually. I'm writing on here to vent this all out...

Hi everybody.
I am planning a shirt that will be made larger than it was originally and want to add ruching. I understand how to do this (sew in a zig zag and gather) but doesnt it give the same effect as sewing over stretched elastic? making "ruches" with elastic adds a lot of stretchiness to the design, does ruching do that too? If not, then are there any advantages in ruching, other than not having to actually buy any elastic?
I just wondered what your experiences/ opinions/ preferences regarding ruching are......
I'll post my shirt when its finished.

BLECH! Long time lurker here...I know you"re supposed to scan the tags to help with thing you"re looking for...but I can't find it!!!
So.. I'm looking for the tutorial that someone posted about changing a plain Hanes tee into a top with ruffles on the front....
I am pretty sure they left the neck the way it was and cut the sleeves off at an angle up to where the neckline meets...
Does this even make sense?

A close friend of mine wanted her friends & family to do performances
&&&&& she came up with THRILLER! =)

i know people already made this type of shirt but i thought it'd be fun
to post it up. haha

Yep, so, hauled out Henrietta (beloved Bernina) and went to town on this shirt I did a major recon on last summer. I really liked it, but it was too short so I happened across a black t-shirt and a blue stretchy halter my sister had given me for the cutting up.
